I still can't believe people think it's an LGBT song when it's actually about the Hiroshima attack during WW2. Enola Gay was the name of Paul Tibbets' mother, he named the bomber after her and the code name for the bomb itself that destroyed Hiroshima was Little Boy. My dad actually owned the full record that featured the intro where they explain what happened. My great-grandmother served the RAF, she was a grid reader for the army helicopters.
