I kind of wonder if the 3D issue that some are seeing is a misalignment of the polarized layer on the LCD.

For example, this is a close-up of the pixel structure as seen through the polarized glasses.
The thick black lines are alternate rows of pixels that aren't meant to be seen by that eye, as intended.

But in the same shot, due to the closeness and curvature of the camera's lens,
you can began to see "under" the polarized layer, meaning the camera is seeing content not meant for that eye (to different severities):

(Where the thick black lines are the polarized blocking,
and the thin black lines are the normal dividers between rows of pixels. You should not be able to see the thin lines.)
